Trauma/PTSD
Trauma is long lasting symptoms after responses; both cognitive and physical, after someone has experienced an event that impacts our ability to cope and process. When we experience a traumatic event, our brain teaches us how to adapt to cope; this is when we see change in behaviour, thoughts, as well as harmful core beliefs. Trauma can occur for both; a single occurrence such as assault, car accident , or ongoing exposure, such as those in the field of First Responder or Front Line Workers.
If this sounds like something you may be experiencing, our team can help by teaching cognitive reframing skills, coping skills for trauma responses/reactions, and processing events.
